Marine Research and High Education Center
MaRHE Center is a research and teaching station situated in Magoodhoo, Faafu Atoll, a Maldivian island in the middle of the Indian Ocean and owned by the University of Milano-Bicocca. The center – with its laboratories and facilities – is surrounded by amazing coral reefs and is the perfect location for all kinds of environmental research on pristine tropical ecosystems.
MaRHE Center was officially inaugurated on January 28th, 2009. Purpose of the Center is to carry out research and teaching activities in the fields of environmental sciences and marine biology, science of tourism and human geography, to teach how to protect this fragile environment and its biodiversity, how to use and manage its resources in a responsible way.
Students from Marine Sciences degree will spend some time on the field conducting research activities and more specifically at MaRHE Center.
